Create a 100th-Day Poster

A fun way to celebrate the 100th day of school is to make a poster to display in the hallway or the classroom. Ask students to create their own posters as a homework assignment or allow them to work in groups on the 100th day. The poster can include anything you can think of. Ask the kids to write 100 reasons they love their grade level. They will come up with some amazing ideas to share with the class.

Make 100th-Day Shirts

A week or so before the 100th day of school, invite students to make their own shirts at home. I have seen students decorate shirts with 100 stickers, 100 pom poms, 100 googly eyes, and so much more. It’s a fun activity they can do with their families and share with their friends.

Dress Up as a 100-Year-Old

Kids will find it hilarious to toss some baby powder in their hair and dress like they are much older than they are. If you dress up yourself, kids will get a kick out of it. Activities like this are such a fun way to get the kids giggling and engaged.

Build with 100 Cups

Supply kids with 100 cups and ask them to work in teams to make a fun structure that stays standing. Watch as each team engineers its own version of stackable cups. Be sure to take pictures of your kiddos next to their creations to share with families.

Make a Picture with the Number 100

Use a die-cut machine to cut out the numbers 1, 0, and 0 for each student. Give them a piece of paper and invite them to make their own adorable craft. Model making a butterfly, a bicycle, a vehicle, and more to give them inspiration. Kids will get super creative, and you will have artwork to display on the walls for a few weeks!

Bring in 100 of an Item

The night before the 100th day, ask kids to collect 100 of something at home. Tell them they can bring in 100 buttons, 100 clothespins, 100 cotton balls, 100 pennies, or whatever else they can think of. Let each child share what they found in their home with the class throughout the day.

100th Day of School Craft

You can’t celebrate 100 days of school without a writing activity! Use this writing craft and template to share what kids would do when they are 100 years old. Kids will write about what they will look like, what their favorite snack will be, what their favorite hobby will be, and where their home will be. This also doubles as a grandparent’s day activity!

Enjoy a 100th Day Snack

Ask families to donate items to contribute to a 100th-day snack. Choose 10 different snack items, and kids will add 10 pieces of each to a bag for their snack that day. Items might include chocolate chips, teddy Grahams, goldfish, raisins, cheez-its, popcorn, Cheerios, Fruit Loops, and other small items. If you have multiple classrooms on your grade level, let kids venture from one classroom to the next collecting the pieces of their snack.

Make a Fruit Loop Necklace

Use yarn and fruit loops to make a necklace with 100 pieces of cereal on it. When kids are finished, they can take the necklace home or eat the cereal as a little snack. Kids can make their necklaces in a pattern or random colors!
