Are schools open on Presidents’ Day 2024?
Most schools are closed on Presidents’ Day 2024, which is a federal holiday.
In New Jersey, most schools are closed on Presidents’ Day, and some are closed on the Friday before the holiday.
It is up to the public district or private school to decide, however, so we recommend checking with your local school to see if it is open or closed. The most accurate information likely will be on the school or district’s website.

Are New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission locations open on Presidents’ Day 2024?
Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) offices will not be open on Presidents Day. Online processing of some documents are available on Motor Vehicle Commission’s website.
Additionally, all New Jersey state offices and courts will be closed.
Does NJ Transit, PATH and SEPTA operate on a normal schedule?
NJ Transit will operate on either a weekday, Saturday or holiday schedule depending on your route. Riders should use NJ Transit’s online trip planner to double-check arrival and departure times.
PATH will operate on a modified weekend schedule with supplemental service throughout the morning commute, while SEPTA will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

The next federal holiday is Memorial Day on Monday, May. 27.
